15 IMPORTANT QUESTIONS ON TITHES ANSWERED

[1] WHAT IS TITHES?

The meaning of the word TITHE is TENTH or 10 percent. To pay tithes is to give or return to God 10 percent of your income or earnings, and increase.

[2] WHY SHOULD WE PAY TITHES?

Because God said in Mal. 3:8: Ye have robbed me in tithes and offerings and in verse 8: Ye are cursed with a curse for ye have robbed me.
1 Cor. 6:9: Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God (10) Nor thieves shall inherit the Kingdom of God. John 10:1: Jesus said, The same is a thief and a robber. Lev. 27:30: All the tithe is the Lord’s; It is holy unto Him. Deut. 14:22: Thou shalt truly tithe all thine increase. Matt. 23:23 and Luke 11:42: Jesus said, Ye ought to. Matt: 5:20: Jesus said our righteous should exceed that of the Scribes and Pharisees. (They payed tithe)

[3] CAN TITHE BE USED FOR OFFERINGS ALSO?

NO. In Mal. 3:8: A difference is made in tithe and offering. Tithe is an obligation, offerings are voluntary contributions, besides the 10 percent tithes.

[4] CAN WE BE SAVED IF WE DON’T PAY TITHES?

Mal. 3:8: Teaches non tithe payers to be robbers
I Cor. 6:9-10: Says the unrighteous nor thieves shall inherit the kingdom of God.

[6] WHAT IF WE STOP TITHING BUT PAY UP LATER?

Lev. 27:30: A 20 percent interest is to be added for late or non payment tithes. Redeem means to make up for or make amends for back tithes that was not paid.

No: Tithe is taught in both — the old and new testaments. It started before the law in the Garden of Eden when God reserved a portion of the fruit of the garden for himself Gen. 3:1-3; Gen. 14:20; Abraham paid Tithes. Gen. 28:20; 20-22; Jacob also paid both hundreds of years before the law. Matt. 23:23 & Luke 11:42: Jesus said ye ought to pay tithe. Matt. 5:20: Jesus said Except our righteousness exceed that of the scribes and pharisees we could not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. Luke 18:11-12: Another Pharisee who paid tithe.

Heb. 7:1,2,4,5,8: Here (now) men receive tithes.

(10] WHERE SHOULD WE PAY OR PUT OUR TITHES?

Mal. 3:10: Tithe should be given to the church.
I Tim. 3:15: The house of God which is the church.
You don’t buy food at Big Apple and pay A&P. You should put money (tithe) where you get your food.

[11] SHOULD WE PAY TITHE ON GROSS OR NET INCOME?

Deut. 14:22 & 28. Commanded to pay tithe on all our increase. Our first fruits. Prov. 3:9

[12] WHO IS TO BE IN CHARGE OF THE TITHES?

Acts 20:28: The Pastor or Bishop is Overseer of the church and can appoint a treasurer to receive the tithe. The treasurer is subject to the Pastor.

[13] WHAT IS TITHE TO BE USED FOR?

Num. 18:21. God ordained it for the support of the ministry. For their service of the tabernacle and the congregation.
1 Cor. 9:7-11 & 14. Again God ordained that they which preach the Gospel should live of the Gospel.

[14] WHO ALL WILL BENEFIT FROM TITHE PAYING?

Mal. 3:10,11,12. The Church because tithe puts meat in God’s house the church. And causes God to open the windows of heaven – pour out blessings.
11: We will be blessed as an individual.
12: Cause all nations to see the results.

[15] CAN WE REALLY DEPEND ON THESE PROMISES TODAY?

I Kings 8:54-56/ V56: Our guarantee.

It has been said that every one pays tithe one way or another because if one does not pay tithe as God hath commanded and also give offerings, It will be paid out in Doctor’s and Hospital bills and many other unexpected expenses.
