I know my own technique, and I know that having the right kind of HBS is of paramount importance.  I also know that knowledge, not only of your material, but where the student is coming from, is mandatory, in order to field the questions people will have.  I know that patience and wisdom are necessities.  I also know that no HBS will teach itself and that the anointing of God is vital.  I know too, that the more you do it, the more your confidence increases and the more adept you get at it.  This is why a person must have discipline as well as a burden; otherwise he will get discouraged and quit.  I know that you must bond with the person you are teaching.  Funny things happen when you are teaching a HBS:  sometimes people will even start weeping.  Sometimes people will receive the Holy Ghost.

One more thing- people sometimes want to know how to get students.  Of course newcomers to church are always good potential students.  However, I have won people by using the Thrifty Nickel.  The following ads will get callers and you can sift through the callers for those who seem sincere.  You will get all the studies you can handle.  Here is a good one.

You have to do a lot of listening and exercise a lot of patience when you do this, but there are people out there who will respond and will be open to what you have to say.
