HERE LIES A MAN WHO LIVED AS THOUGH HE WOULD NEVER DIE
By: J.S. Tumblin
He had time for pleasure, time for his friends, and time for strangers. He had
time to break God’s commands. He lived in sin and grieved the Spirit of God. He
resisted the truth, trampled on the blood of Jesus, hardened his heart, and
stabbed his conscience.
He found time for money, houses and lands, silver and gold. He sometimes took time
to dine and dance, and drink to the gods of this world. He took time to curse and
blaspheme the name of the one who loved and died for him. Yes, he had time for
everything – BUT – no time for God and His church – no time for JESUS and HIS Holy
Word. HE DID NOT THINK HE HAD TIME TO DIE, but when the death Angel knocked at his
door and said, COME! Go with me! he might have said, I am not prepared to go – I
cannot die – I am not prepared to face death. Too late now, the Angel must have
replied, Your father, the devil, whom thou hast worshipped, will meet you in hell
– COME – COME – now let’s go, for “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after
this the judgment.” (Heb. 9:27).
YES, HE DIED, and now must stand before the judgment bar of God and hear the final
verdict: “Cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of
teeth.” (Matt. 22:18).
God’s final Word and warning is set forth in His Book of Laws from which there can
be no appeal made after the death Angel has blown his cold breath upon your face
and your heart forever ceases to function.
TOO LATE – YOU ARE THEN A DEAD MAN – TOO LATE!
BELOVED, before it is too late, listen to the words of Jesus and take heed, I
pray.
“HE THAT BELIEVETH ON HIM (JESUS), IS NOT CONDEMNED: BUT HE THAT BELIEVETH NOT IS
CONDEMNED ALREADY, BECAUSE HE HATH NOT BELIEVED IN THE NAME OF THE ONLY BEGOTTEN
SON OF GOD.” (John 3:18).
Jesus also includes the pharisees and hypocrites, saying, “IN THAT DAY, many will
say to me, Lord, Lord, have we not… in thy name done many wonderful words? And
then I will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work
iniquity.” (Matt. 7:22,23).
“I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked.” (Ezek. 33:11).
“There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.” (Isaiah 57:21).
“So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever
the wicked form among the just.” (Matt. 13:49).
“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone
where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night,
for ever and ever.” (Rev 20:10).
“The fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and
whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolators, and all liars, shall have their part
in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
(Rev. 21:8).
“The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without
mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and
brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the LAMB.”
(Rev. 14:10,11).
“The Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall
perish.” (Psa. 1:6).
The above is God’s Word and “It is truth.” (John 17:17). He has bound every word
with an oath, and is a God that cannot lie. (Heb. 6:17,18).
Now, beloved, because of God’s love, mercy, and grace, He has made a way of
escape.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on Him
that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation: but is
passed from death unto life.” (John 5:24).
“Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” (John 6:37).
“Ye must be born again.” (John 3:7).
For, “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine
heart that God hath raised him for the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever
shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Rom. 10:9,13).
“For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the
gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Eph. 2:8,9). You can trust
the man who died for you. He says, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee.” (Jer.
33:3). And, “As far as the east is from the west, so far he hath removed our
transgressions from us.” (Psalms 103:12).
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who
walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” (Rom. 8:1).
“Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God.” (Matt. 5:8).
“Unto Him that loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood” – we will
sing – “a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the
seals thereof; for thou was slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of
every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.” (Rev. 1:5 and 5:9).
