JOB DESCRIPTION: DOOR TO DOOR EVANGELISM

Job Purpose

To reach souls that otherwise would not be reached, to bring growth to all departments of the church. Major focus will be upon 1) reaching into all areas of the city 2) not only inviting to church but to go forth prayerfully proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to the whole world beginning at Jerusalem.

Job Qualifications

1. Must be filled with the Holy Ghost.
2. Must meet all qualifications for church membership.
3. Must be loyal to the pastor/director.
4. Must be willing to work in Harmony with others.
5. Must carry a burden for lost souls.
6. Must be able to instill enthusiasm and excitement in others.
7. Must be an outgoing individual a lover of people.
8. Must be willing to teach H.B.S. and trained in doing so.
9. Must be faithful to church and church functions.
10. Must be dependable and faithful in accomplishing duties.

Job Responsibilities

** To be faithful in attending Sat. morning prayer etc.
a. (11a.m. – 12p.m.) prayer
(12p.m. – 12:30p.m.) evangelism rally pep talks instructions etc.
(12:30 – 1:00) snacks, sandwiches provided by appointed individuals
(1:00 – 3:30) visit make contacts as directed by group leaders
Purpose of sandwiches etc. to be an incentive for a full effort to reach the lost. Will not be hungry for whats around the time everyone thinks of food so will not need to break until at least 3:30 pm.
** a main director will oversee all door to door evangelism will be appointed by the pastor only
** will have two specific groups then will add as workers are the 2 groups
1. Visitor follow-up
2. New area outreach
** Visitor follow-up will ideally be the Sunday School teachers, but not always will be able to make the contact so that responsibility goes to visitor follow-up team.
** Visitor follow-up team will get sources from visitor guest cards and are to see each visitor does get a card and fill one out completely.
** New area outreach will get information by process of elimination places have not gone people have not talked with.
** All must emphasize home bible studies and give them a card and phone number when individual feels to call and receive a free Home Bible Study w/ free Bible.
** Must keep record of all H.B.S. cards where given and to whom for follow-up on that individual.
** Must be willing to actually give the Bible Study at anytime before own obligations. 1st obligation to the church of Jesus Christ.
** At the end of every month will have an activity for a certain age group on a Sat. evening parents and children invited to the church for concert, puppet show, and pitch in dinner all saints invited. (will be at the end of every month with exception of special service or emergency’s)
** As an evangelist must be faithful in attending functions for it gives a chance to see growth and fellowship with those who have been reached, to reach others.
** Must be willing to teach H.B.S. at any time at the church when needed for in a larger setting.
** Must be willing to use own transportation to get individuals in different circumstances and be willing to escort those individuals home special cases may include-
1)Sick children/adults
2)Older folks
3)Parents who does not yet trust to ride with just anyone.
** Must be a willing team worker to not only participate in functions but to give input positive if have negative must have positive to refute.

Training and Development

** Must attend seminars total church growth, Evangelism into Black Community and others as indicated by directors.
** Must be willing to read information, books, and be apart of any special service or volunteer program into community.

Job Goals for the year

** To witness a steady growth in H.B.S. given from yourself. Must have at least two in a six month period.
** Must continue to obtain a greater burden desire to see souls saved through even a deeper consecration to God.
** Must have exposure to new areas, people, as many encounters to keep the burden alive.
** Should strive to see as many repent, be baptized and to receive the Holy Ghost as possible per year then 2 per year etc.
** To grow and develop in greater ways as an individual.
