Job Purpose
To administer and motivate the Ladies Ministries Department in a manner that will involve as many of the ladies of the church as possible. Major focus will be placed upon Ladies spiritual growth,
outreach, fund raising, and social involvement. By focusing on these areas, the Ladies will be a vital part of reaching our city.
Job Qualifications
1. Must be filled with the Holy Ghost.
2. Must meet the qualifications for church membership
3. Must be loyal to the Pastor.
4. Must be willing to work in harmony with others.
5. Must carry a burden for the Ladies Ministry.
6. Must be able to instill enthusiasm and excitement in the Ladies
7. Must be able to lead and motivate department staff.
8. Must be a lover of the souls of women.
9. Must be faithful and dependable in accomplishing duties.
10. Must have a knowledge of the operation / function of Ladies Ministries.
Job Responsibilities
** Shall oversee and supervise all operations of the Ladies Ministries under the direction of the Pastor. Shall seek to implement this ministry with tact, zeal and love.
** Shall work diligently to include as many of the church ladies in the various ministries of the Ladies Ministries as possible.
a. Hand out an annual commitment form to see what area each lady would like to work in.
** Shall coordinate and oversee the weekly Ladies Prayer Meeting, encouraging as many as are able to attend, to do so.
** Shall oversee Ladies Visitation each week. Assignments are to be given to visit sick, shut-in, discouraged, new converts, and other ladies in need. Check with the Pastor or Pastor’s Wife for
assignments.
** Shall organize the annual Ladies fund-raising projects which includes:
a) Peanut Brittle and Candy sales
b) Annual Church Bazaar
c) Annual Church Bar-B-Q sale
d) Mother’s Memorial Pledges & Fund raising
** Shall hold a quarterly organizational meeting for all church ladies for the purpose of spiritual growth, fellowship, and coordination of ladies activities.
a. This may include the quarterly Secret Sisters Social for all women that wish to participate.
** Shall plan occasional Ladies Training Days or Evenings (no more than twice per year) for fellowship, instruction and outreach. An outside speaker may (with Pastors approval) be brought in.
Focus is to provide needed instruction in areas important to ladies, provide opportunities for inviting unsaved and new convert ladies, as well as fellowship.
** Shall coordinate at least one ladies out of town outing per year, encouraging as many as are able to attend, to do so, and to bring an unsaved friend.
a. Baby sitting may be provided, if needed, by the Youth Department.
** Shall attend, if possible, all Sectional Ladies Auxiliary meetings and encourage other church ladies to attend also.
** Shall encourage the ladies to attend the Annual District Ladies Retreat.
a. Assist in providing transportation needs (if needed).
** Shall coordinate all church weddings within the church, meeting with the bride to go over wedding guidelines, insuring clean-up, proper dress, etc.
a. Wedding Guidelines should be typed up and handed out.
** Shall be responsible for overseeing all wedding and baby showers within the church family (first baby only).
** Shall be responsible to prepare for communion & foot washing: setting up fruit of the vine, communion bread, foot washing pans, extra towels, clean- up, etc.
** Shall be responsible for the maintaining of all Baptismal robes and assist with ladies being baptized when needed.
** Shall coordinate all annual church dinners and social’s:
a) Annual Church Spring Picnic
b) Mother and Daughter Banquet
c) Annual Fall Potluck
d) Annual Department Leaders Retreat (if food is needed)
e) Annual Church Christmas Dinner
f) Watchnight Service Refreshments
g) and any others
** Shall order, as needed, all approved supplies for church kitchen, church cleaning, and paper products from designated suppliers.
** Shall organize all benevolence dinners for deaths in the Church Family.
** Shall coordinate the preparing and bringing of food for evangelists and visiting speakers.
** Shall be responsible for seeing that coffee, sodas, and snacks are available at all monthly department head councils.
** Shall oversee and schedule ladies for the Church Cleaning. Shall insure that cleaning check list if followed. Schedule is to be posted each quarter.
** Shall work with the Maintenance ministry to schedule a quarterly work day to give the church a much more complete cleaning.
** Shall oversee and schedule ladies for staffing of the Church Nursery. Nursery is to be kept clean, stocked, and in good repair. A monthly list of volunteer staff is to be posted on church bulletin board.
** Shall send flowers to all church funerals or members hospitalized, under approval of Pastor.
** Shall organize hospital visitation for all members that have extended hospital stays (over 2 days).
** Shall coordinate the church “Food Barrel” pantry and its’ distribution for church members and needy. All food gifts are to be first cleared through the Pastor.
a. This shall include the preparation of annual “Holiday Baskets” for needy members & others.
** Shall organize the collection of money and purchase of the Pastor and Wife’s birthdays, anniversary, Pastoral Anniversary, Mothers/Fathers day, General Conference and Christmas gifts.
** Shall work with the Pastor and Men’s Fellowship Department to plan an annual marriage and family week. This may include a 3-4 day seminar with a special speaker.
** Shall work with the New Convert Care department to involve all new convert ladies in some aspect of the Ladies Ministries and fellowship. You will be given a copy of all lady new converts
altar cards for this purpose.
** Shall coordinate the Ladies Ministries council, which shall assist you in your Ladies Ministries duties (the Pastor will assist you in appointing these individuals):
a. One lady to help coordinate church & ladies social’s.
b. One lady to help coordinate benevolence & carry-in dinners.
c. One lady to help coordinate showers & weddings
d. One lady to help coordinate church cleaning & purchasing of supplies.
e. One lady to help coordinate Ladies Visitation.
f. One lady to help coordinate Church Nursery.
g. Others as needed.
** Shall provide to the Pastor, when vacancies occur on your staff, a list of recommendations for replacement.
Other Duties
** Shall work with the Pastor to select an assistant to help you in all aspects of your departmental duties.
** Shall endeavor to not schedule any departmental activities on Monday night. Monday will be known as “Family Night” and all church members are encouraged to stay home with their families on this night.
** Shall be an example to the church in faithfulness by attending all church services and functions.
** Shall be an example to the church in soulwinning by being continually involved in the Home Bible Study Ministry, or some other form of outreach ministry.
** Shall be an example to the church in spiritual growth by coming at least one-half hour before each service to pray.
** Shall attend all Annual Planning Retreats and Monthly Departmental Planning Councils.
** If unable to attend because of an emergency, shall inform the Pastor in advance and endeavor to have a substitute attend in your place.
** Shall hand in an official monthly report at the Monthly Staff Council.
** Shall perform additional duties as required.
Organizational Relationships
The Ladies Ministries Director is responsible directly to the Pastor. Each year, the Pastor and Ladies Director will review this Job Description, update and improve to make more applicable to the
position. Accountability shall consist of a monthly report of all Departmental activities and upcoming events. The Director is responsible for all assistants, interdepartment staff and personnel.
The director shall work closely with all departments, but especially Men’s Ministries and New Convert Care. Evaluation of performance of this position shall be performed by the Pastor on an annual basis. The term of this office shall be for one year.

** Attend the District Ladies Retreat if possible.

** Purchase “Sacred Chow” by Adelle Harvey (Abingdon Press)
** Read “Measure Of A Woman” By Gene Getze (Regal Books)
** Read additional book(s) assigned by pastor
