PRESENTATION OF FLOWERS OR SPECIAL GIFT
Sometimes after the Lighting of the Unity or Marriage Candle the couple wish to present flowers to their respective mothers, or grandmothers, or other special persons. Often this gifting is done as a “surprise” and no words indicate that it is about to occur. After the candle lighting (or blessing of marriage) the couple moves to the special persons they wish to recognize and gives that person a hug and kiss and the flower or gift, and then return to their place before the Presider for the final prayers. This time (with the Unity Candle and Presentation or Greeting) is often a good time for background music to be played or a solo to be sung.
