In the last 30 years our world and our nation have changed radically. In some ways there have been vast improvements and yet in the world we live in there is a group of people that has silently arisen. (A large group) (This group wasn’t there 30 years ago).

Today, I want to introduce you to this group of young people and children that is crying out for help. They come from:

“THE NON-TRADITIONAL FAMILY”

A. Divorced or separated
B. Teenagers who have children
C. Both parents working (leaving no parental guidance)
D. Incest victims
E. Orphaned Children
F. Alcoholic or Drug Dependent Parents
G. Abusive Moms or Dads

It’s important to remember that this group of young people are the ones who seem to be too far gone. (They don’t pay tithes. They create discipline problems, and they introduce our children to the corruptions of this sin sick world) And when we do reach out with our traditional Sunday School programs to these kids, we don’t find much success!!!

1. WHERE CAN WE FIND THESE KIDS?

You can find them in every town and city in this great nation. They are a product of this world. (Divorce, drugs, alcohol, and sin) The ideal place to find some of them is in the low-income housing authorities in your communities, trailer parks, etc. . . They’re out there, thousands of them and they need Jesus . . .

2. HOW DO WE REACH THEM?

We cannot reach them as a whole with the traditional approach … that much is clear!!!

So, let’s look at what will work!!! “Saturday Morning Live” has successfully bridged the gap for these young people. Is it a perfect program? No! But does it effectively give these children hope? Yes!!! And that hope is Jesus Christ.

3. HOW DOES THIS PROGRAM WORK? AND WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT FROM OUR SUNDAY SCHOOL PROGRAM?

This program is a non-traditional outreach that effectively proclaims Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We must learn to communicate with these kids. (Our kids vs. these kids are as much different as daylight and dark).

So, how does it work? Prayer, fasting, and a lot of time and hard work … sounds familiar doesn’t it.

3. LOUD CHRISTIAN MUSIC
4. DEPENDABILITY
5. JESUS CHRIST

And you know what? God moves in a remarkable way!!! And praying at Saturday Morning Live we have had as many as 70 repenting and praying to Jesus in one service . . . and we have had as many as 6 receive the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in Tongues ….
