It is very inspiring to read the testimonies of pious men who lived and died for Christ our Lord; sparing not their voice they cried aloud, saying, Jesus is God. It certainly encourages us to join them and speak the same thing knowing the day is fast approaching when He shall appear with His great glory, to fill the earth with the knowledge of the One true God, and cause all the nations of the earth, high and low, great and small, kings and citizens, to fall at His feet and acknowledge Him, worship and fear Him as the Jehovah of hosts and the King eternal and as God over all (Zech. 14:5; 1 Tim. 6:14,15; Rom. 9:5) we also hesitate not to proclaim His soon coming, and exhort you all to get ready for that greatest of all events.
The kings and the rulers of the earth have ignored His eternal authority, the Mohammedans have rejected His divine Sonship and the redeeming blood of His cross, the Jews have refused His Messiah-ship and His great salvation, many of the evangelized heathen have disobeyed His glorious gospel, and the apostate Christians, with modern theologians, are denying His absolute Deity. What about you, dear reader? What do you think of Christ, and what are you doing with Him?
As for me, I have personally accepted Him as my Saviour and the only LORD,and believe in Him as, my God and my All in All His matchless NAME is my refuge and stay. Therefore I glory in nothing less than in the blood of His cross and in His powerful resurrection, ascension, glorification, and His absolute Deity.
It is a matter of great joy to me to preach not only Jesus Christ as the Lamb of God slain before the foundation of the earth for our blessed redemption, but to declare His eternal Godhead also. To this end I join the great cloud of His faithful witnesses and mingle my glad testimony with theirs concerning “God manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” (1 Tim. 3:16).
The Latter Rain outpouring of the Spirit caused the Christian world to go to the Bible as never before, searching diligently to see if these things were so,-the things which they saw happening to those who were receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost, with shakings and speaking in other tongues, etc. This has been the case in every advance movement of God’s people, when they have been graciously crowned with the revelations and illuminations of the hidden truths of the good old Bible. So it is with this wonderful present-day truth. God is revealing to and energizing His people to proclaim; as never before, a full and glorified Saviour, who is God-man. This divine movement is also causing the people of God everywhere to go to their Bibles again, and it has caused me to do the same. Therefore, I will endeavor, in His blessed NAME, to give you a brief exposition of the Deity or Jesus Christ as it is recorded in the Epistle to the Hebrews.
There are four books in the New Testament which especially and more specifically reveal the deity of our Lord and Saviour, or Jesus’ being the very God; viz., the Gospel of St. John, the epistles to the Colossians and the Hebrews, and the book of Revelation. At this time we will only meditate a little on the Deity of Christ as in the book of Hebrews. (Read carefully Hebrews, first chapter).
