The Mighty And Lofty Claims of Jesus

The Mighty And Lofty Claims of Jesus
By O.F. Fauss

I have given you some of the highlights of the Revelation of our truth and our message in the preceding chapters, from the beginning of my ministry in 1915, up until the later years. Now I want to give you several Bible studies as a closing part of this book.

The mighty and lofty claims of our Lord Jesus! Who is Jesus’ (Matthew 16:13-15; 21:10; Acts 9:5; Jeremiah 9:23, 24).

He claimed to have power to forgive sins (Psalm 99:8; 103:1-3; Isaiah 43:25; Jeremiah 31:34; Amos 7:2). Compare these with Mark 2:5-7, 10, 11.

He claimed to be the “I am” (Exodus 3:14, 15; Psalm 135:13; compared with John 8:58, 24; 18:5, 6).

He claimed to be the first and the last God (Isaiah 44:6; 41:4; 48:12-17). Compare these with Revelation 1:8, 17, 18; 22:13 and 14.

He claimed to be the owner and builder of the church (I Corinthians 1:2; I Timothy 3:15; Matthew 16:18; Romans 16:16; Acts 20:28).

He claimed to be the Almighty and the only one Almighty (Genesis 17:1; Exodus 6:3). Compare this with Revelation 1:8; Isaiah 9:6.

He claimed to be the Saviour of the world (John 12:47; Matthew 1:21; John 4:42; Jude 25; Titus 2:12). Compare these with Isaiah 45:21, 22; 43:10-12.

He claimed to be the Redeemer of Israel (Isaiah 41:14; 47:4). Compare this with Luke 24:21-25; Galatians 3:13; Colossians 1:14.

He claimed to be the Lord God of the holy prophets (Revelation 22:6). Compare this with the first and sixteenth verses.

He claimed to be God, the Shepherd (Isaiah 40:10,1 l; Psalm 79:13; Ezekiel 34:31; John 10:11, 14; I Peter 5:4; Hebrews 13:20.

He claimed to be God the Creator (Isaiah 44:24; 45:5-8, 18; John 1:1-10; Colossians 1:16, 17; Isaiah 65:17: Revelation 21:5-7).

The mighty claim of Jesus was verified by Thomas, who called Him “My Lord and my God” (John 20:28), and by the Apostle Paul, who called Him “God our redeemer” (Acts 20:28), “God over all” (Romans 9:5), “God manifest in the flesh” (I Timothy 3:16), and “the great God to appear” (Titus 2:13). Jude spoke of Him as “the only wise God, our Saviour” (Jude 25). By the Apostle John He was called “the true God and eternal life” (I John 5:20, 21). The Apostle Peter, designated Him as “the Lord and Saviour” (II Peter 3:2).
